in the middle ages there was a lecturer at the university of antwerp (or was it ghent?) who believed that the language spoken in the garden of eden was flemish which opens up the possibility that g-d also spoke flemish so when adam was hiding from him he might have called out : hee manneke waar zijt gij nou? zit ge soms stiekem ergens te spelen met het pieleke dat ik voor ge gemaakt heb?

i recognise that appreciating the above requires more than a rudimentary understanding of at least two languages and one dialect but i am not going to apologize for it.
