pannekoek
i am noticing dutch grammar creeping into my sentences and it is somehow more pleasing to me than what i know to be the more correct english grammar. for example i wrote, not 'i am going to the forest for a few days', but 'i am going for a few days to the forest'.
what is happening to me?
bonus joke for dutch speakers :
i read somewhere about someone who says they find a pannekoek less enjoyable to eat if they spell it 'pannenkoek' which has been the official spelling since 1995, but maybe that's because, in trying to make it a pannenkoek, they are transferring it from one pan to the other halfway through making it.
